Murray State Swine
Education
Our students practice their teaching and presenting skills and help tell the story of safe and healthy pork production by working with K-12 groups throughout the year. We teach more than 1,000 elementary students at Murray State’s Fall on the Farm event each September. Each spring we partner with Mr. Jason P’Pool and our Livestock Judging Program to provide high quality stock for our FFA Field Day event and other High School livestock judging contests and clinics hosted here at Murray State.
Mobile Swine Lab/Outreach
In partnership with the Kentucky Ag Development Fund and the Kentucky Pork Producers Association, our Mobile Swine Lab travels to K-12 schools throughout Western Kentucky. Using our mobile swine lab, our students teach swine-related content to middle and high school agriculture and science students. We also give agricultural literacy presentations to K-5 groups. If you are a teacher or organizational leader who is interested in learning more about what we offer through our Mobile Swine Lab, please contact us today!
